Full-length standing carte-de-visite portrait of Bijay Sen (1846-1902), Raja of Mandi from the 'Album of cartes de visite portraits of Indian rulers and notables' by Bourne and Shepherd, early 1870s. Mandi, located in Himachal Pradesh, was controlled by the Rajas of Mandi, descendants of the Chandabansi Rajas. Bijay Sen, succeeded (as a minor) in 1851 and the state was governed by a council of regency until 1866. | ||
